Job description
The Senior Staff Engineering Manager at GEICO is an engineering leader responsible for innovating and building new engineering solutions while enhancing existing ones. This role focuses on defining the strategy and execution of a technical roadmap to improve product delivery and unlock new capabilities in the core insurance platform. The ideal candidate will possess deep technical expertise in system design and architecture, and will lead teams to solve complex operational problems. Collaboration across teams and providing technical leadership are key aspects of this position.
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience in a leadership position
- 6+ years of coding experience in Java or .Net
- 5+ years of development experience in a large-scale, mission-critical environment
- 5+ years of hands-on work experience supervising personnel in a technical environment
- Proven expertise in designing and developing microservices using GraphQL, gRPC, Java, Python, and Kafka
