The Senior Staff Engineering Manager at GEICO will lead teams responsible for critical platforms such as the File Exchange Platform and Unified Platform Experience. This role focuses on driving modernization, ensuring compliance, and enhancing user experience across various services. The manager will also define architectural standards and cultivate a high-performance culture within the team. This position requires strong leadership skills and a deep understanding of software and system design.

• At least 6 years of coding experience.
• 5+ years of significant experience building scalable, fault-tolerant, and robust products and platforms.
• 5+ years of hands-on work experience supervising 10+ personnel in a technical environment.
• 2+ years of experience with automated testing including Unit, Integration, and End-to-End functional testing.
• Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology or related field, or equivalent experience.

• Work with senior leadership to address project dependencies and deliver projects on time.
• Lead the File Exchange Platform team responsible for GEICO's secure file transfer service.
• Drive modernization from ticket-based operations to a self-service portal.
• Define and enforce architectural standards and best practices for platform performance and reliability.
• Identify and raise appropriate project risks while presenting implementable solutions.
• Report on team progress for project and key metrics.
• Initiate and support performance evaluation of team members.
• Cultivate a culture that motivates all levels of performers.
• Develop the team budget and report on results achieved.
