The Staff Engineer at GEICO will play a crucial role in enhancing the Digital Experience for customers by building high-performance, low maintenance platforms and applications. Requirements
- 8+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 6+ years of experience with architecture and design
- 4+ years of experience with AWS, GCP, Azure, or another cloud service
- 4+ years of experience in open-source frameworks
- 1+ years of experience with Generative AI/LLM based applications and agentic systems
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent education or work experience
Responsibilities
- Scope, design, and build scalable, resilient distributed systems
- Engage in cross-functional collaboration throughout the entire software lifecycle
- Participate in design sessions and code reviews with peers to elevate the quality of engineering across the organization
- Mentor juniors and make them successful
- Utilize programming languages like Python, C#, Java, TypeScript or other object-oriented languages, SQL, and NoSQL databases
- Consistently share best practices and improve processes within and across teams
- Build product definition and leverage technical skills to drive towards the right solution
- Conduct analysis and estimation for project requirements
