The role at GEICO involves providing technical and thought leadership within the Technology enterprise. Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field of study.
- Ten years of experience as a Software Engineer or in a related occupation.
- Ten years of experience with Software Development within the .NET framework.
- Seven years of experience with building the architecture and design of new and current systems.
- Five years of experience with DevOps concepts, Cloud Architecture, Azure DevOps Operational Framework, and Cloud Engineering.
- Four years of experience with Azure Network and open source frameworks or .NET Core, ASP.NET, Angular, or Express.
- Three years of experience in people management or team leadership.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical and thought leadership to the Technology enterprise.
- Collaborate with product managers, team members, customers, and other engineering teams to solve complex problems.
- Develop and execute technical software development strategies for .NET and other domains.
- Ensure accountability for the quality, usability, and performance of solutions.
- Utilize programming languages, databases, and a variety of Azure tools and services across the Software Development Lifecycle.
- Act as a role model and mentor to strengthen the technical expertise of the engineering and product community.
- Influence and educate executives on best practices and process improvements.
- Analyze costs and forecasts, incorporating them into business plans.
- Determine and support resource requirements and evaluate operational processes.
