Job description
GEICO is seeking a Staff Engineer, Applied AI to enhance customer and associate experiences through Generative AI. This senior, hands-on role requires deep technical expertise and strong collaboration skills to deliver scalable AI systems. The engineer will work closely with various teams to design and implement AI solutions that automate workflows and improve decision-making. Mentorship of engineers interested in AI and fostering a culture of innovation is also a key aspect of this position.
Requirements
- 8 or more years of professional software engineering or applied machine learning experience.
- 2 or more years of experience working with Generative AI or LLM-based systems in production.
- Strong understanding of agent architectures and workflow orchestration.
- Proven experience building scalable, resilient, secure, and maintainable products.
- Ability to collaborate deeply across teams and co-create solutions.
Responsibilities
- Identify and evaluate opportunities for automating business processes using AI.
- Architect, build, and deploy applied AI solutions across enterprise workflows.
- Design and implement AI agents and workflows to automate complex processes.
- Collaborate with product, engineering, operations, and analytics partners.
- Mentor engineers and scientists in AI and agentic workflow skills.
