Job description
The Staff Machine Learning Engineer will join the GEICO AI Agent Platform team to develop the next generation of enterprise AI Agent operating systems and SDKs. This role focuses on building scalable backend systems that support the creation, testing, and deployment of AI agents and workflows. The engineer will also be responsible for ensuring the reliability and governance of AI agents while collaborating with various teams. The position requires strong technical leadership and excellent communication skills to drive innovation in AI technology.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; advanced degree is highly desirable.
- 6+ years of experience designing, implementing, and maintaining multi-tenant AI/ML systems in production.
- 6+ years of experience with cloud platforms such as Azure or AWS and backend systems like Kubernetes and PostgreSQL.
- Deep proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or Go.
- Experience with AI/ML frameworks like TensorFlow or PyTorch.
Responsibilities
- Architect scalable multi-tenant backend systems for AI agent workflows.
- Build an enterprise AI agent skill ecosystem for authoring and managing reusable skill packages.
- Implement production-grade AI agent harnesses to ensure reliability for long-running tasks.
- Develop observability frameworks with LLM-specific telemetry for monitoring AI agent behavior.
- Act as tech lead for a sub-team, providing mentorship and ensuring design consistency.
