Job description

The Senior System Software Engineer will join the Autonomous Vehicles Platform team, focusing on developing high-performance software for autonomous driving systems. This role involves working on middleware features that interact with various sensors for self-driving cars. Candidates will collaborate with hardware, embedded software, and cloud infrastructure teams to create scalable solutions. The position requires a strong background in system software and a passion for innovation in autonomous vehicle technology.

Requirements

  • BS or MS degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field or equivalent experience.
  • 12+ years of professional experience working on system software.
  • Excellent programming skills in C++ and C.
  • Solid understanding of QNX, Linux, or real-time operating systems.
  • Experience in developing user-space system software with a willingness to delve into kernel-space and/or low-level hardware when needed.
  • Knowledge of embedded systems programming, threading, synchronization mechanisms, communication frameworks, and parallel computing.
  • Familiarity with CPU/GPU architectures, memory subsystems, and performance optimization.
  • Prior experience working in autonomous vehicles, robotics, GPU, or embedded systems.
  • Outstanding communication and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

  • Drive AI-based automotive systems from design through production within power and performance constraints.
  • Work with hardware teams to help shape future platforms for industry-leading power efficiency.
  • Triage and debug stability, performance, and power issues in sophisticated systems and applications.
  • Design systems to comply with ISO 26262 functional safety and security requirements.
