The Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2) Networking team is seeking a software engineer to help re-engineer the virtual networking control plane. This role involves building, scaling, and maintaining high-performance software for managing millions of Virtual Private Cloud (VPC) configurations. • 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
• 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture experience of new and existing systems
• Experience programming with at least one software programming language
• 3+ years of full software development life cycle experience, including coding standards and operations
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable cloud services and features for AWS's core infrastructure
• Collaborate with product managers and senior engineers to translate business requirements into technical solutions
• Write high-quality, efficient code while adhering to AWS's architectural best practices
• Participate in code reviews to ensure quality, security, and performance standards
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues across AWS services
• Implement automated testing frameworks to ensure reliability and performance
• Contribute to on-call rotations to support production systems
• Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance
• Document system designs, APIs, and operational procedures
• Continuously evaluate and improve existing systems for performance, scalability, and cost-efficiency
