Job description

This role is part of the AWS Managed Services team, focusing on cloud technologies and infrastructure management. The successful candidate will work closely with Operations, Database, and Network Engineers to address complex technical challenges. The position emphasizes collaboration, automation, and continuous improvement in cloud service delivery. Candidates will also mentor less experienced engineers and act as a customer advocate within AWS.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.
  • 4+ years of network and operating system support experience.
  • 4+ years of experience with virtualization, orchestration, and cloud computing.
  • Experience with the AWS platform and web services.
  • Experience with service-oriented architecture and web services.
  • Experience with Active Directory or identity and access management systems.
  • Experience with security aspects including network and application security protocols.
  • Experience with Configuration Management Software.
  • Scripting and/or programming experience with at least one scripting language.
  • Experience in a DevOps team supporting CI/CD workloads.
  • Experience configuring, managing, or troubleshooting systems of scale.
  • Experience in Networking including LAN, VPN, Firewalls, and TCP/IP.

Responsibilities

  • Operate the Managed Service platform and collaborate with internal service teams.
  • Troubleshoot complex issues and drive root cause analysis.
  • Build proof of concept environments that follow cloud best practices.
  • Collaborate to build utilities and tools for internal use.
  • Identify and drive improvements to technical processes.
  • Act as an escalation point and mentor to less experienced engineers.
  • Provide the voice of the customer to internal AWS teams.
  • Drive customer communication during critical events.
  • Learn and leverage groundbreaking technologies.
