The Senior Structural Engineer role at Jacobs focuses on leading complex structural projects and ensuring technical excellence in seismic engineering and facility resiliency. Requirements
- California Structural Engineer (SE) license is required.
- California Professional Engineer (PE) license is required.
- A Master of Science in Structural Engineering or Civil Engineering with a structural emphasis is required.
- At least 10 years of structural engineering experience focused on vertical building projects is required.
- Experience serving as Engineer of Record and technical lead for complex projects is required.
- Demonstrated expertise in CBC, IBC, ASCE 7, AISC, ACI, and California seismic requirements is required.
- Proficiency with ETABS, SAP2000, PERFORM-3D, RAM, SAFE, or similar platforms is required.
Responsibilities
- Lead structural analysis, design, evaluation, and rehabilitation of complex building projects.
- Act as Engineer of Record for major building projects through planning, design, construction, and project delivery.
- Prepare and review calculations, specifications, reports, and construction documents.
- Mentor engineers and designers while promoting technical excellence.
- Collaborate with architects, owners, and multidisciplinary teams.
- Support client development, pursuits, proposals, and technical presentations.
- Serve as a technical leader for seismic engineering, performance-based design, and resiliency initiatives.
- Perform advanced linear and nonlinear analysis using industry-leading tools.
- Lead ASCE 41 seismic evaluations and retrofit designs.
