Job description

As a Geotechnical Engineer at Jacobs in Bellevue, Washington, you will be part of a dynamic team of nearly 150 professionals dedicated to civil infrastructure projects. Your role will involve collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to provide innovative solutions for a diverse portfolio of projects. Requirements

  • 2–5 years of experience in geotechnical engineering
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering and a Master's or PhD with a geotechnical or geological emphasis
  • Strong academic foundation in soil mechanics and geotechnical design principles

Responsibilities

  • Participate in field assignments including soil and rock borings, CPT soundings, geophysical testing, instrumentation installation, and construction inspections
  • Analyze field logs and lab data to support geotechnical design decisions
  • Design shallow and deep foundations, earth retaining structures, ground improvement, embankments, and cut slopes
  • Perform seismic hazard analyses, including site-response studies and liquefaction evaluations
  • Prepare calculation packages and technical documentation such as memos, reports, and specifications
  • Use advanced software tools for engineering analysis
  • Review construction submittals for compliance with design assumptions and contract requirements
