Job description
The Supply Chain Sustainability Intern will join the Chief Sustainability Office at IBM, focusing on how sustainability regulations and circular supply chain initiatives impact business decisions. This internship provides a unique opportunity to engage in research and analysis related to sustainability disclosure requirements and supplier engagement strategies. The intern will work with AI-powered tools and collaborate on cross-functional projects that align sustainability goals with business value creation. Requirements
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's program in Engineering, Materials Science, Environmental Science, Sustainability, Supply Chain, or a related field.
- Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills with a passion for data-driven decision-making.
- Ability to understand and analyze technical concepts related to manufacturing processes, material flows, recycling systems, and supply chains.
- Interest in sustainability, environmental responsibility, and ethical business practices.
- Experience or interest in using AI, automation, and data visualization tools to drive insights and efficiency.
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
- Highly organized with a proactive mindset and eagerness to learn.
Responsibilities
- Research emerging sustainability disclosure requirements and assess potential impacts on IBM's supply chain.
- Assess circular supply chain opportunities and develop recommendations to support business value and regulatory readiness.
- Use AI-powered tools and IBM technologies to analyze sustainability data.
- Participate in cross-functional projects that align sustainability goals with business value creation.
- Attend internal forums and stakeholder discussions to observe strategic partnership development and sustainability innovation.
