Job description
The Security Engineer role on the Identity and Access Management (IAM) Security team focuses on protecting and enhancing authentication and authorization systems across Amazon's global operations. This position involves collaborating with various teams to improve security posture while enabling business productivity. Requirements
- 3+ years of programming experience in Python, Ruby, Go, Swift, Java, .Net, C++, or similar object-oriented languages.
- 2+ years of scripting, programming, and security code review experience in a common programming language.
- 2+ years of experience troubleshooting systems issues, analyzing logs, or automating tasks using command line tools.
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.
- Knowledge of networking protocols such as HTTP, DNS, and TCP/IP.
- Knowledge of industry-based security vulnerabilities and remediation techniques.
- Experience with AWS products and services.
Responsibilities
- Participate in architectural reviews and threat models for identity systems.
- Develop and support requirements for Amazon's IAM security initiatives.
- Improve access management infrastructure across a complex global environment.
- Provide authentication and authorization design review and threat modeling services across the enterprise.
- Implement and maintain automated security audits for identity workflows.
- Collaborate with business teams on technologies such as FIDO2, Kerberos, Single Sign-On, and Passwordless Authentication.
- Analyze alerts from detection tools and investigate identity security events.
- Communicate findings and security recommendations to stakeholders and leadership.
