Job description
The Apple Services Engineering Server Frameworks Team is seeking a Java engineer to develop frameworks and reference examples for Java applications and services. This team plays a crucial role in powering various Apple services, ensuring high performance and security. The candidate will work alongside other engineers to implement a feature backlog while adhering to ASE standard methodologies. A strong focus will be on creating reliable, well-tested frameworks that support core services and maintain backward compatibility.
Requirements
- Strong object-oriented programming experience, primarily in Java.
- Expert knowledge of Java build and dependency management tools like Maven and Gradle.
- Excellent understanding of the software development life cycle, version control, and code quality tools.
- Experience with SQL, relational databases, and ORM tooling.
- Hands-on knowledge of scaling distributed services using modern cloud technologies such as Kubernetes.
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
- Experience building AI agents for task and software automation.
- B.S. degree in Computer Science or equivalent professional experience.
Responsibilities
- Develop reliable and well-documented frameworks for Java applications.
- Implement a feature backlog and roadmap in collaboration with other engineers.
- Ensure frameworks incorporate ASE standard methodologies and foundational support for core services.
- Consider backward compatibility, upgrades, and dependency management in framework development.
