Job description
Apple is seeking a Thin Film Transistor (TFT) panel design engineer to lead the design, development, and launch of advanced display technologies for Apple products. The role involves architecting complete TFT pixel and panel designs, enhancing simulation methodologies, and collaborating with cross-functional teams. The engineer will also focus on improving design automation and applying AI-assisted workflows to streamline processes. This position requires a blend of technical expertise and innovative thinking to drive the next generation of display performance.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
- Hands-on experience creating 2D physical layouts in a CAD environment.
- Experience performing circuit simulation with a SPICE-class simulator.
- Understanding of TFT, OLED, and panel processes.
- Advanced degree in Electrical Engineering with a focus on thin-film devices.
- Direct design ownership of an OLED or LCD display product that reached high-volume production.
- Experience in measuring and characterizing IV and CV of TFT or OLED devices.
- Experience in characterizing panel optical and electrical performance.
- Experience in gate, column driver IC, and other display electronics designs.
- Experience building repeatable automation for simulation and data-analysis flows.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop TFT panel architecture and specifications.
- Conduct TFT device design, modeling, and simulation.
- Perform pixel and panel design, layout, and parasitic parameter extraction.
- Establish simulation methodologies and best practices for the team.
- Engage in failure mode analysis and root cause investigations.
- Explore and validate new TFT technologies.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and external vendors.
- Develop and maintain design automation for panel simulation and analysis.
- Travel internationally to support project implementation.
