Job description

Jacobs is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Entry-Level Civil Engineer to join their Water team in Huntsville, Alabama. This position is ideal for recent graduates with a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering and relevant coursework in water and wastewater treatment. The role focuses on supporting planning, design, and construction projects that enhance water infrastructure. Candidates will gain hands-on experience while collaborating with experienced engineers and project managers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited university.
  • Relevant water or wastewater coursework or projects.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the planning and design of water, wastewater, and stormwater infrastructure projects.
  • Perform engineering calculations related to hydraulics modeling, pipelines, pump stations, and treatment facilities.
  • Support the preparation of engineering reports, studies, specifications, and construction documents.
  • Participate in the development of drawings and design packages.
  • Conduct data collection, field investigations, and site visits.
  • Assist with construction administration activities, including reviewing submittals and conducting field inspections.
  • Coordinate with multidisciplinary project teams, including environmental, structural, electrical, and mechanical engineers.
  • Support project scheduling, cost estimating, and budget tracking activities.
  • Ensure work is completed in accordance with applicable codes, regulations, and company quality standards.
