Job description

As a Qualcomm ASIC Engineer, you will be responsible for defining, modeling, designing, optimizing, verifying, validating, implementing, and documenting IP development for high-performance products. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure low power design intent requirements are met at the SoC level. The role involves collaborating with various teams including frontend RTL, DFT, synthesis, and physical design during the SoC development process. Additionally, you will engage in power analysis and projection to create power models and dashboards for SoC power targets.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Science, Engineering, or related field and 4+ years of ASIC design experience, or a Master's degree with 3+ years, or a PhD with 2+ years.
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering.
  • Experience in ASIC frontend development including logic design, RTL coding, verification, synthesis, and timing closure.
  • Proficiency in hardware description languages such as Verilog, VHDL, and System Verilog.
  • Familiarity with power-aware implementation flows including UPF, CPF, and Conformal Low Power Check.
  • Scripting experience in Perl, Tcl, or Python.

Responsibilities

  • Work with frontend RTL, DFT, synthesis, and physical design teams to develop power intent design at the SoC level.
  • Generate and validate power intent design (UPF) at the SoC level.
  • Review designs and guide IP designers' power intent design to ensure compliance with low power implementation requirements.
  • Collaborate with design verification teams to validate low power design features at both SoC and IP levels.
  • Enhance existing power flows and tools in collaboration with company CAD and vendors.
  • Improve power design flows in areas such as power modeling, clock power analysis, and structural power validation.
  • Execute power-aware implementation flows including UPF, CPF, and Conformal Low Power Check.
  • Review IP design's power features and power budgets.
  • Track IP power development throughout the design cycle to ensure it meets power budgets.
  • Perform power analysis and projection of SoC baseline power and deliver SoC power models.

Benefits

  • Qualcomm offers competitive compensation, annual bonuses, stock programs, comprehensive healthcare coverage, retirement plans, wellness programs, parental leave, flexible work options, and professional development opportunities.
