The Senior Software Development Engineer (SDE) role focuses on owning the identity architecture for agent governance within the AWS Applied AI Solutions organization. This position involves making foundational architectural decisions, mentoring engineers, and driving consensus with partner teams. • 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
• 5+ years of programming experience with at least one software programming language
• 5+ years of experience leading design or architecture of new and existing systems
• Experience as a mentor, tech lead, or leading an engineering team
• 5+ years of experience in the full software development life cycle
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

• Own the end-to-end identity architecture for agent governance.
• Design attribution and audit systems that distinguish agent actions from human actions.
• Own policy enforcement architecture, including authorization models.
• Evaluate build-vs-leverage decisions across identity and authorization primitives.
• Drive technical consensus with partner teams on identity and permission models.
• Mentor and develop junior and mid-level engineers through code and design reviews.
• Communicate architectural decisions and tradeoffs to senior leadership and non-technical stakeholders.
