Citi is seeking a Senior Lead Software Engineer to take technical ownership of complex financial applications within the Securities Finance technology team in Jersey City. This role involves architecting, building, and delivering enterprise-scale software solutions that enhance critical securities and custody workflows. The engineer will leverage deep Java expertise while leading a team and collaborating with various stakeholders. The position emphasizes both technical depth and leadership within a high-performing team.

• 10 or more years of hands-on software engineering experience in financial services environments.
• Deep proficiency in Core Java, Java EE, PL/SQL, Spring, Spring Boot, Hibernate, RESTful API development, and Unix scripting.
• Practical experience with microservice architecture and container orchestration using Docker and Kubernetes.
• Proficiency in Oracle and MSSQL relational databases, including writing complex SQL queries.
• Hands-on experience with AI coding assistants as part of daily engineering workflows.
• Demonstrated ability to lead engineering teams and communicate technical decisions to senior stakeholders.
• Familiarity with regulatory data requirements and compliance considerations in financial services.

• Architect and design end-to-end software solutions for high-volume securities finance applications.
• Build and deliver new application capabilities using Core Java, Spring Boot, RESTful APIs, and microservice patterns.
• Lead the technical analysis of complex financial business processes and translate requirements into application designs.
• Define and enforce engineering standards across the full development lifecycle.
• Mentor and develop engineers and analysts, allocating work effectively.
• Partner with senior business leaders to capture functional requirements and incorporate them into system designs.
• Identify and manage technical and operational risk within delivery decisions.
