Job description
Apple is seeking a results-oriented DevOps / Infrastructure Engineer to join their team. This role focuses on contributing to the AMS firmware validation platform, which includes CI/CD, infrastructure, and tooling for Mixed-Signal IP firmware. The engineer will work on challenges that have yet to be solved and will play a key role in crafting products that delight millions of customers. The position requires a strong background in DevOps and infrastructure, with an emphasis on automation and system integrations.
Requirements
- BS degree in a technical discipline with a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience.
- Experience in designing and owning CI/CD pipelines and shared engineering infrastructure.
- Strong proficiency in Python for CLI tooling, orchestration, and system integrations.
- Hands-on experience with self-hosted CI/CD tools such as GitLab CI, Jenkins, or GitHub Actions.
- Proficiency with Git and the ability to integrate various build, test, and reporting services.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Familiarity with the hardware/firmware development lifecycle.
- Experience with additional version-control systems like Perforce.
- C programming or firmware development experience.
- Familiarity with packaging and versioning tools such as pip or npm.
- Experience with containerization and service deployment tools like Docker.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to the AMS firmware validation platform by developing CI/CD infrastructure.
- Design and implement automation for building, testing, and validating firmware.
- Integrate disparate build, test, and reporting services into a coherent pipeline.
- Drive cross-team triage and maintain alignment among stakeholders.
- Work hands-on in a hardware lab to set up and maintain test stations.
- Utilize lab instruments for debugging and testing as needed.
- Explore AI-assisted development tools for code review and automation.
