Job description
The Data Engineer role involves designing, building, and operating data pipelines, models, and platform infrastructure to support Ring's analytics, science, and AI initiatives. The position requires ownership of the end-to-end data lifecycle, ensuring reliable access to well-structured data for analysts and AI systems. The team focuses on data engineering, business intelligence, applied science, and agentic AI, with an emphasis on building multi-agent solutions to automate data engineering tasks. Collaboration with the broader data organization is essential for maintaining infrastructure and improving developer tooling.
Requirements
- 3+ years of data engineering experience
- Experience with data modeling, warehousing, and building ETL pipelines
- Experience with SQL
- Experience with the full software development life cycle, including coding standards and code reviews
- Demonstrated use of generative AI tools in a professional or project setting
- Experience with AWS technologies like Redshift, S3, AWS Glue, and Lambda
- Experience with non-relational databases or data stores
- Experience designing or building AI agents or multi-agent solutions
- Familiarity with agentic AI patterns and development IDEs
- Experience building or maintaining shared data models or data contracts
- Familiarity with data governance, cataloging, or lineage tracking
- Experience contributing to shared platform infrastructure or self-service data services
- Familiarity with observability tooling for data pipelines
Responsibilities
- Design and build data pipelines and models to support analytics and AI initiatives.
- Ensure the quality and reliability of data throughout the data lifecycle.
- Utilize AI development IDEs and generative AI tooling to enhance productivity.
- Automate common data engineering tasks through multi-agent solutions.
- Contribute to the shared data platform by improving developer tooling and maintaining infrastructure.
- Support the services that the broader data organization relies on.
