Job description
The Senior Systems Software Engineer will work on extending NVIDIA's low-latency streaming technology into the automotive domain, focusing on real-time media streaming and safety-critical software development. This role involves adapting streaming pipelines to meet the reliability and certification demands of in-vehicle systems. The engineer will collaborate with functional safety teams and contribute to the evolution of engineering and safety processes. Candidates should be excited about the challenge of reimagining low-latency interactive streaming for automotive applications.
Requirements
- Proficiency in C/C++ with strong systems software programming and debugging skills.
- Hands-on experience with real-time, latency-sensitive software development in QNX or other RTOS environments.
- Solid understanding of ISO 26262 classification concepts and freedom-from-interference principles.
- Experience with real-time video/audio pipelines and network protocols.
- Understanding of deterministic, thread-safe, and memory-safe coding practices.
- BS or MS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Engineering with 8+ years of relevant experience.
Responsibilities
- Extend and adapt GFN's low-latency streaming stack to RTOS platforms.
- Develop QM-classified streaming software ensuring architectural isolation from ASIL-rated components.
- Collaborate with functional safety teams to meet freedom-from-interference and resource-partitioning requirements.
- Build and evolve test infrastructure and tools to validate real-time performance and fault-tolerance behavior.
- Define and monitor performance and safety metrics to drive continuous product improvement.
- Review code and design across the team and help evolve team engineering and safety processes.
Benefits
- Employees at NVIDIA are often offered comprehensive, day-one benefits—including medical, dental, and vision coverage with HSA support, life and disability insurance, an Employee Assistance Program, and a 401(k) with auto-enrollment. Many roles also have generous time off and holidays, donation matching (up to $10,000), and a wide menu of extras like FSAs, commuter benefits, legal and identity-theft protection, pet insurance, and wellness discounts. Optional programs can include student-loan and home-purchase support, plus family care resources and expert medical services.
