Job description
NVIDIA is seeking a Senior Applied Research Scientist to join its Curator team, focusing on developing and deploying deep learning models for data curation and document extraction at scale. The role involves working with a team of researchers and engineers to enhance the quality of foundation model training sets through efficient data pipelines. Candidates will contribute to innovative methodologies for multimodal data extraction and deduplication, impacting the training of advanced LLM models. This position offers the opportunity to work in a diverse, remote environment with a focus on cutting-edge AI technologies.
Requirements
- Candidates must have a Master's, Ph.D. or equivalent experience in data curation, document AI, information retrieval or multimodal research.
- A track record of publication in leading conferences like CVPR, ICCV, ECCV, KDD, etc. is required.
- Hands-on experience developing computer vision and document-extraction models and pipelines is essential.
- Candidates should have 10+ years of experience developing multimodal systems across a range of models and platforms.
- Proven expertise managing distributed data frameworks like Ray, Spark, or Dask is necessary.
- Excellent Python programming skills and strong hands-on experience with PyTorch or comparable modern deep learning frameworks are required.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are necessary, along with the ability to work in a dynamic, user-focused, distributed team.
Responsibilities
- Develop efficient and performant models and data pipelines that extract and curate multi-modal data.
- Build pipelines for petabyte-scale extraction and content deduplication.
- Contribute to the expansion and optimization of curation methodologies targeting petabyte-scale multimodal data.
- Explore and craft datasets, metrics, experiments, and validation scripts for standard methodologies in research.
- Help ML Engineers scale pipelines to production capability through the development of NVIDIA Inference Microservices.
- Write papers, blog posts, documentation, and training materials to assist customers in understanding the research.
- Keep up to date with the latest developments in data curation across academia and industry.
Benefits
- Employees at NVIDIA are often offered comprehensive, day-one benefits—including medical, dental, and vision coverage with HSA support, life and disability insurance, an Employee Assistance Program, and a 401(k) with auto-enrollment. Many roles also have generous time off and holidays, donation matching (up to $10,000), and a wide menu of extras like FSAs, commuter benefits, legal and identity-theft protection, pet insurance, and wellness discounts. Optional programs can include student-loan and home-purchase support, plus family care resources and expert medical services.
