Job description
The Group Tech Lead for the Application Networking organization at Netflix will partner with Engineering Leads to establish a multi-year product and technical strategy that influences various business verticals. This role focuses on solving complex architectural challenges related to communication between services, devices, and partners at a global scale. The team is responsible for ensuring secure interactions across Netflix's extensive subscriber base. The position requires a blend of technical expertise and leadership to shape the future of Netflix's networking infrastructure.
Requirements
- A track record of setting technical direction and influencing architecture across organizations.
- Demonstrated experience in architecting, building, and operating foundational distributed systems or platforms at massive scale.
- A history of identifying and pursuing high-impact opportunities in ambiguous, undefined problem spaces.
- Experience shaping or contributing to open-source communities or building systems that set standards others adopt.
- A track record of elevating the most senior engineers around you and setting the technical bar others follow.
- Experience communicating effectively across engineering, product, and executive audiences.
Responsibilities
- Partner with Engineering Leads to set multi-year product and technical strategy for the organization.
- Forge the architectural path for the communication backbone connecting services, devices, and partners.
- Shape where stakeholders and the broader organization invest based on your influence.
- Address Netflix's hardest problems related to secure interactions and identity management.
- Ensure the seamless experience for Netflix's 325M subscribers through effective networking solutions.
Benefits
- Employees at Netflix are often offered flexible, people-first benefits—unlimited time away, generous parental leave, global family-forming support, mental-health programs (mindfulness, free counseling/coaching), and health coverage tailored by country. Financially, Netflix pays at personal top-of-market and lets employees choose their mix of cash vs. fully-vested 10-year stock options, alongside donation and volunteer matching. Convenience perks can include trust-based travel/expense policies, relocation support, and “Work, Not Drive” rideshare flexibility.
