Job description
The Resident Engineer (Transportation) role at Jacobs involves overseeing the construction supervision of roadway and infrastructure projects in Oklahoma. This position requires extensive interface management with stakeholders and contractors to ensure that projects are implemented safely and accurately. The engineer will lead a team in monitoring construction progress and maintaining high-quality standards. Emphasis will be placed on safe construction practices and developing trusted relationships with project teams and clients.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering
- 10+ years of experience as a Resident Engineer, Project Manager, or Construction Manager in an Engineering, Environmental, or Construction organization
- Proven experience within large transportation projects in the State of Oklahoma
- Strong working knowledge of pre-design and pre-construction, contract management, project delivery methods, team building, and client relationship
- Valid driver's license and good driving history
Responsibilities
- Provide oversight of the construction process to ensure adherence to contract and permitting requirements
- Lead a team in monitoring the progress of construction projects and advising on steps to achieve project goals
- Report on progress, safety, financial projections, quality control, and changes in contract work
- Develop trusted relationships with the project team, contractor, and client’s staff
- Emphasize safe construction practices and maintain high quality of construction on site
