This role is focused on data center design and operations within AWS Infrastructure Services. The team is responsible for ensuring the reliability and efficiency of AWS global infrastructure, collaborating with various stakeholders to meet business requirements. Candidates will work on assessing colocation facilities and influencing design standards while maintaining compliance with regulations. • 4+ years of industrial or commercial engineering experience in mission critical facilities such as data centers, power generation, or oil and gas facilities.
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• Experience researching new designs, technologies, and construction methods of data center equipment and facilities.
• Professional Engineer License.
• Experience with building codes and regulations for your region.
• Experience reading, interpreting, and creating construction drawings, specifications, and submittal documents.

• Conduct site assessments against AWS standards for collocation data centers and telecommunications facilities.
• Perform risk analysis and availability calculations for vendor owned and operated collocation data center infrastructure.
• Influence AWS design and specification requirements to meet business needs for AWS colocation products.
• Investigate and document root-cause failure analysis associated with infrastructure and equipment failures.
• Work with vendors and local agencies to ensure compliance with federal, state, and municipal requirements and codes.
• Collaborate with engineering, operations, and commissioning teams to test and validate critical systems.
• Support operations and data scientists in analyzing utilization, efficiency, and performance of critical systems.
• Travel to data center sites as required, both internationally and domestically, up to 50%.
