Job description
The role is for a Software Engineer specializing in real-time graphics rendering within Apple's Compositing, Color, and Display Software organization. The team focuses on enhancing visual experiences across Apple's product ecosystem, including iPhone, iPad, and Apple TV. The engineer will work on optimizing graphics and rendering features, collaborating with various teams to implement new UI materials and improve performance. This position requires a passion for solving complex graphics challenges and delivering responsive experiences at scale.
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in software development
- 2+ years of experience with real-time rendering and computer graphics
- Strong expertise in C/C++ programming and GPU-accelerated rendering pipelines
- Hands-on experience with modern graphics APIs such as Metal, Vulkan, or DirectX
- Foundational understanding of Operating Systems and Computer Architecture
- Strong debugging and triaging skills for complex systems issues
- Excellent collaboration skills with cross-functional teams
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field
Responsibilities
- Contribute to core graphics and rendering initiatives within the CoreAnimation rendering pipeline
- Implement and optimize features for visual experiences across Apple's product ecosystem
- Collaborate closely with UI Frameworks, System Experience, and Human Interface Design teams
- Contribute to performance improvements that reduce rendering latency across CPU and GPU pipelines
- Optimize battery efficiency and eliminate visual corruptions across diverse hardware configurations
- Incorporate modern AI-assisted workflows into software engineering practices
