Job description

This role serves as the authoritative systems architect for next-generation humanoid robots, acting as the interface between large-scale vision-language-action models and physical platforms. The senior leader will define hierarchical multi-system architecture requirements while optimizing advanced AI models with hardware constraints. The position requires collaboration across multiple engineering domains to drive innovation and development of transformative platforms. The role also involves mentoring senior engineers and guiding technology roadmaps.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in complex cyber-physical systems, with 4-5 years specializing in robotics or high-performance edge AI platforms.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Math, or a related field.
  • Direct experience with humanoid robots or mobile manipulators.
  • Hands-on exposure to VLA or foundation models.
  • Expertise with robotics platforms such as NVIDIA Jetson or custom AI silicon.

Responsibilities

  • Own the canonical hierarchical control stack, including VLM/VLA systems and whole-body control.
  • Drive co-optimization of large VLA/world models with compute silicon.
  • Perform first-principles sizing of FLOPs, sustained TOPS, and memory-bandwidth floors.
  • Author and maintain primary system-level specifications and translate product goals into actionable requirements.
  • Lead multi-disciplinary architecture reviews and key decisions across various engineering teams.
  • Formulate and guide expert-led viability experiments and mentor senior engineers.

Benefits

  • Intel offers a comprehensive benefits package including competitive pay, stock programs, healthcare coverage, retirement plans, paid time off, parental leave, and programs supporting employee wellbeing and professional development.
