As an Amazon Field Engineer, you will provide full life-cycle support to AWS Data Centers, ensuring their design, maintenance, and operational efficiency. You will collaborate with diverse teams to troubleshoot issues, conduct root cause analyses, and develop innovative solutions. This role emphasizes both office and field work, allowing you to engage directly with data center operations. You will be instrumental in leading engineering audits and supporting construction projects to meet evolving customer needs.

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent.
• 3+ years of experience with industrial, municipal, or commercial engineering, particularly in data centers or mission-critical facilities.
• Valid US driver's license and reliable personal transportation.
• Experience as a resident engineer or hands-on design consultant.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
• Basic understanding of mechanical and electrical equipment related to data centers.
• Data analytics skills and comfort with working in large data sets.
• Knowledge in water chemistry and treatment technologies.

• Perform design and equipment submittal review for new Data Centers.
• Troubleshoot site and equipment failures and create corrective action documentation.
• Support operational issues with training and complex procedure reviews.
• Own the conceptual design for data center upgrades and solutions.
• Interface with internal teams to promote standards for reliability.
• Develop innovative solutions for AWS's data centers.
• Initiate and lead engineering audits and produce risk reports.
• Act as resident engineer during new construction projects.
