Job description
Qualcomm is seeking talented engineers for the CPU RTL Power team, focusing on high-performance, low-power devices. The role involves power modeling, analysis, and optimization of CPU designs to enhance energy efficiency. Candidates will work closely with architecture, RTL, verification, and physical design teams to achieve power targets. This position requires a strong understanding of low power design techniques and hands-on experience with relevant tools.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field and 4+ years of relevant experience, or a Master's degree with 3+ years, or a PhD with 2+ years.
- 3 - 8 years of experience in CPU RTL power modeling and estimation.
- Deep understanding of CPU or ASIC low power design, including active and idle power optimization.
- Working knowledge of Verilog and/or VHDL and experience with low-power simulation tools such as PowerArtist and PTPX.
- Knowledge of logic design principles and their power and timing implications.
Responsibilities
- Estimate and analyze RTL power for CPU modules using PowerArtist or equivalent tools.
- Optimize power at various design stages to meet targets in collaboration with architecture, RTL, verification, and physical design teams.
- Create comprehensive CPU power models and achieve correlation with physical design.
- Analyze power, performance, and area tradeoffs.
- Build scripts using Python or Perl to automate power estimation and analysis flows.
