Job description
The AWS Payments & Fraud Prevention team is seeking a talented Software Development Engineer (SDE) to build highly scalable distributed systems that protect millions of customers from fraud. This role involves designing and implementing systems that process millions of events per second and developing machine learning-powered detection pipelines. The team focuses on real-time fraud detection and ensuring AWS security through innovative solutions. Candidates will work in a fast-paced environment, collaborating with applied scientists and mentoring teammates.
Requirements
- 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture experience of new and existing systems
- 1+ years of software development engineer or related occupational experience
- 1+ years of designing and developing large-scale, multi-tiered, multi-threaded, embedded or distributed software applications using C#, C++, Java, or Perl
- 1+ years of Object Oriented Design experience
- Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field
- Experience programming with at least one software programming language
- 3+ years of full software development life cycle experience, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and operate highly scalable distributed systems that process millions of events per second with low-latency requirements
- Build real-time fraud detection pipelines using Apache Flink for stream processing, aggregations, and anomaly detection
- Develop graph-based intelligence solutions on AWS Neptune to uncover hidden relationships and identify fraud rings
- Write high-quality, production-ready code for services that must be available 24/7 with zero tolerance for downtime
- Own the full lifecycle of your solutions from design and implementation through deployment, monitoring, and operational excellence
- Collaborate with applied scientists to integrate machine learning models into real-time decisioning systems
- Work in a fast-paced, agile environment solving complex problems with direct, measurable impact on AWS security
