Job description
The Senior Graphics Shader Compiler Engineer will be a key member of the GPU Software organization at NVIDIA, focusing on the design and implementation of core compiler components for graphics drivers and general-purpose computation on GPUs. This role involves solving critical problems alongside a talented team of compiler engineers, contributing to the future of GPU technologies. The position emphasizes collaboration with global teams and participation in open-source projects, making it a dynamic and impactful opportunity. Candidates will work on significant compiler optimizations and contribute to the development of standards like SPIR-V.
Requirements
- BS/MS in Computer Science or Computer Engineering, with a PhD strongly preferred.
- 8+ years of experience and a strong background in compilers.
- Strong C/C++ programming skills and a deep understanding of parallel programming models.
- Experience with compiler optimizations, particularly with LLVM infrastructure.
Responsibilities
- Work on the design and implementation of significant parts of the compiler.
- Conduct performance analysis and design/implement new optimizations.
- Partner with global compiler, GPU driver, architecture, and application teams to coordinate improvements and resolve problems.
- Seek interesting and meaningful compilation problems for state-of-the-art GPU technologies.
- Contribute to open-source projects such as LLVM and the DXC - HLSL compiler.
- Propose, design, and implement SPIR-V extensions and represent NVIDIA in Khronos.
- Participate and contribute to the future of SPIR-V as a standard graphics interchange format.
