Job description
The Advanced Manufacturing Engineer (AME) at Rivian will be instrumental in transitioning electromechanical assemblies from design to high-volume production. This role serves as a vital link between internal design teams, contract manufacturers, and equipment suppliers. The AME will focus on design for manufacturing, automation development, and supplier engagement to ensure products are produced efficiently and effectively. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in manufacturing engineering and a passion for innovative solutions.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or greater in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related technical field.
- 7+ years of progressive experience in manufacturing engineering, industrialization, or DFM roles.
- Experience with precision mechanical joining and molding/casting processes.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient in 3D CAD software such as CATIA, SolidWorks, or NX.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
Responsibilities
- Work closely with mechanical design engineers to ensure manufacturability of electro-mechanical assemblies.
- Drive process optimizations and efficiency improvements through automation.
- Act as the primary technical liaison with contract manufacturers and key suppliers.
- Evaluate and approve manufacturing processes, fixtures, and tooling.
- Implement data-driven approaches to identify and resolve manufacturing bottlenecks.
- Communicate project status, technical risks, and mitigation plans across teams.
