Job description
The Principal Architect role at Google focuses on building trusted advisory relationships with C-level executives and key stakeholders to design comprehensive strategies across the Google ecosystem. This position requires deep expertise in enterprise architecture and cloud technologies, as well as the ability to influence stakeholders and solve complex problems. The role is critical in recommending integration strategies and optimizing Google Cloud effectiveness. The Principal Architect will lead cross-functional teams and collaborate with product management to manage enterprise architecture relationships.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Strategy, Business Consulting, or a related field and 10 years of progressive post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or in a Principal Architect-related occupation.
- Alternatively, a Master’s degree in a related field and 8 years of experience in the job offered or in a Principal Architect-related occupation.
- 8 years of experience in structured enterprise architecture practices for hybrid cloud or on-premise-to-cloud migration deployments.
- Experience in the architecture and design of highly distributed global cloud-based systems.
- Technical presentation experience to stakeholders and executive leaders.
- Knowledge of network technology including routing, VPNs, load balancers, and firewalls.
- Experience in database management of multiple databases or related application stacks.
Responsibilities
- Build trusted advisory relationships with C-level executives and key stakeholders to identify priorities and design comprehensive strategies.
- Recommend integration strategies and enterprise architectures to successfully implement solutions while providing best practices.
- Lead cross-functional teams and collaborate with product management to manage holistic enterprise architecture relationships.
- Partner with Value Engineering to articulate the total value of technical solutions and drive business growth.
- Empower partners to drive successful pilots and migrations while removing technical barriers.
- Promote solutions at industry conferences and travel to customer sites as required.
