Job description
The Director of Silicon Architecture at AMD will lead the development of next-generation architecture for Adaptive Devices, focusing on FPGA configuration, readback, and Partial Reconfiguration. This role involves establishing a long-term vision for architecture and driving innovation across various markets, including AI and Data Center. The successful candidate will build and lead a team of architects and engineers, ensuring cross-functional alignment and technical execution. This position is critical for translating customer needs into differentiated FPGA capabilities and product strategies.
Requirements
- Deep expertise in FPGA architecture with a focus on Configuration and Partial Reconfiguration.
- Strong understanding of configuration architecture, including bitstreams, protocols, and security.
- Proven track record of driving complex architectural initiatives from concept through product deployment.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills, including customer-facing experience.
- BS, MS, or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
Responsibilities
- Lead FPGA configuration architecture, including bitstream formats and boot flows.
- Define and drive next-generation Partial Reconfiguration architecture for dynamic deployment models.
- Establish long-term architectural vision and roadmap for configuration and observability capabilities.
- Drive system-level trade-offs across configuration bandwidth, latency, and power.
- Collaborate with silicon, design, validation, and product teams to ensure high-quality implementations.
- Influence product strategy and roadmap planning across FPGA product generations.
- Engage with key customers and industry ecosystems to identify emerging requirements.
