Job description
The Software Engineer II position is part of the Data Engineering & Governance team within Microsoft's Global eCommerce and Web team. This role focuses on creating and managing big data systems to support sales across various platforms. The engineer will work on complex projects both independently and collaboratively, ensuring security and compliance with privacy regulations. The ideal candidate will have experience with Microsoft Fabric and Azure, and will be eager to learn new technologies.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 2+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR equivalent experience.
- Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements.
- 1+ year of experience with Azure Service (Microsoft Entra ID authentication, App Services, Functions, Event Hubs, Stream Analytics), Azure DevOps.
- 3+ years of software design and development experience with middle tier or backend services.
Responsibilities
- Work with appropriate stakeholders to determine user requirements for a set of features.
- Leverage feedback to incorporate insights into future designs or solution fixes.
- Create and implement code that is extensible and maintainable for a product, service, or feature.
- Review the code of a product to ensure it meets the team's and Microsoft's quality standards.
- Contribute to efforts to ensure the correct processes are followed to achieve a high degree of security, privacy, safety, and accessibility.
- Act as a Designated Responsible Individual (DRI) monitoring system/product feature/service for degradation, downtime, or interruptions.
- Respond within Service Level Agreement (SLA) timeframe and escalate issues to appropriate owners.
