Job description
The Software Development Engineer II (SDE II) role is part of the DPS Onboarding Tech team, which focuses on building and operating technology for client onboarding into Amazon's Denied Party Screening ecosystem. The team is currently working on a system unification initiative to streamline onboarding workflows. In this position, you will design and implement distributed systems while collaborating with various stakeholders. The role emphasizes operational excellence and mentoring junior engineers.
Requirements
- 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture experience of new and existing systems
- 1+ years of software development engineer or related occupational experience
- 1+ years of designing and developing large-scale, multi-tiered, multi-threaded, embedded or distributed software applications using C#, C++, Java, or Perl
- 1+ years of Object Oriented Design experience
- Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field
Responsibilities
- Design and build scalable services that support client onboarding and data enrichment for DPS screening workflows
- Drive system unification efforts by consolidating legacy onboarding tools and workflows into a unified platform
- Own and operate production services with a focus on availability, latency, and operational excellence
- Collaborate cross-functionally with onboarding program managers and compliance teams to define requirements
- Mentor and guide junior engineers on the team, contributing to code reviews and engineering best practices
- Contribute to the team's technical roadmap by identifying opportunities to improve system reliability and reduce onboarding friction
- Write clean, well-tested, and maintainable code in alignment with Amazon's engineering standards
