Job description
The lead iCloud Insights Engineer will be part of the Apple Services Data Science & Analytics team, focusing on building data products and applications that enhance decision-making for one of Apple's largest services. This role involves designing AI-assisted web applications that make large-scale data accessible and actionable. The engineer will collaborate with various teams to define metrics and develop automation pipelines. A strong emphasis is placed on mentoring, setting technical direction, and driving cross-functional projects.
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience in a Data Visualization, Data/Analytics Engineering, Data Science, or Software Engineering role.
- Hands-on experience building and deploying custom web applications using frameworks such as React, Streamlit, Flask, Django, or Next.js.
- Practical experience integrating AI/LLM capabilities into applications or workflows.
- Strong SQL skills and experience designing data models and pipelines.
- Proficiency with data visualization tools for legacy reporting.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Proven ability to lead projects independently and mentor other engineers.
- BS in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Information Systems, Engineering, Economics, or a related field.
- Experience in a digital subscription business or large-scale e-commerce or media streaming platform.
- Strong Python skills, including experience with AI/ML libraries and Spark for large-scale data processing.
- Experience designing and building AI agents or agentic workflows.
- Familiarity with cloud-native application deployment and modern development practices.
- MS in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Information Systems, Engineering, Economics, or a related field.

- Own and drive the data product and application strategy for iCloud.

- Collaborate with Data Science peers to define metrics and design datasets.
