The Apple Translation & Multilingual Intelligence team is seeking exceptional researchers and scientists to develop next-generation Apple Foundation Models that facilitate communication across language barriers. This role focuses on addressing core training challenges in instruction following, tool use, deep reasoning, and architectural adaptation. You will collaborate with a team of experts to explore innovative training strategies and enhance evaluation methodologies. The goal is to create highly capable, intelligent assistants that enhance the Apple ecosystem.

• 4+ years of experience in machine learning and NLP with a focus on LLMs, post-training, or reinforcement learning.
• Proficient programming skills in Python and a major deep learning framework such as JAX or PyTorch.
• Masters/PhD, or equivalent practical experience, in Computer Science, Machine Learning, or a related technical field.
• Experience developing state-of-the-art LLMs that are natively multilingual.
• Experience training large models at scale with familiarity in distributed training challenges.
