The Software Development Engineer position at AWS Vulnerability Management focuses on managing the vulnerability lifecycle across AWS. Candidates will work closely with service teams to prototype and implement solutions that enhance security across the AWS fleet.

• 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
• 2+ years of experience in design or architecture of new and existing systems
• Experience programming with at least one software programming language
• 3+ years of full software development life cycle experience
• Experience designing and owning a system consumed by other teams
• Experience operating what you build in production, including on-call responsibilities
• Experience building production data-intensive systems with distributed processing frameworks
• Experience with data lakes or warehouse services and strong SQL skills
• Experience taking a prototype to a production service
• Interest in or exposure to security engineering or vulnerability management

• Build systems that determine why vulnerabilities persist across the AWS host fleet and drive them to remediation automatically.
• Build detection that identifies where patching automation is not reaching hosts.
• Prototype fast against fleet-scale security data and take successful prototypes to production.
• Partner with AWS service teams and security platform teams to reduce the attack surface across the fleet.
• Operate the systems that find and eliminate the causes of vulnerabilities across the AWS host fleet.
