The AWS DynamoDB team is seeking a Software Development Engineer to enhance observability and performance tools for DynamoDB, a key-value database known for its low-latency performance. The role involves building instrumentation to analyze latency and improve performance across various components. The engineer will work within a diverse team to solve complex technical challenges and drive innovations in software solutions. This position offers the opportunity to impact a wide range of customers and contribute to the development of critical cloud services.

• 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
• 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture experience of new and existing systems
• 1+ years of software development engineer or related occupational experience
• 1+ years of experience designing and developing large-scale, multi-tiered, multi-threaded, embedded or distributed software applications using C#, C++, Java, or Perl
• 1+ years of Object Oriented Design experience
• Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field
• Experience programming with at least one software programming language
• 3+ years of experience with big data technologies such as AWS, Hadoop, Spark, Pig, Hive, Lucene/SOLR or Storm/Samza
• Experience in debugging, profiling, and implementing software engineering best practices in large-scale systems
