Amazon Lab126 is looking for a Senior Electro-Static Discharge (ESD) Systems Design Engineer to join the Centralized Electrical Engineering Organization. This senior-level role involves designing ESD protection for consumer products and requires a deep understanding of ESD-related failures. The engineer will collaborate with Mechanical Product Design, Electrical Engineering, and Software teams throughout the design and validation phases. The position emphasizes system-level ESD testing and the development of robust designs to meet immunity requirements.

• 7 years of experience or a Bachelor's degree with at least 10 years of experience in system-level ESD design for consumer electronic devices.
• Master's degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or equivalent.
• Knowledge of ESD failure mechanisms of electronic devices and ICs.
• Experience in simulation in the area of ESD and/or EMI, signal integrity.
• Experience in 3D electromagnetic fields simulation and circuit analysis tools.
• Knowledge of analog and digital circuit design including low power circuits, audio circuits, processor architecture, and various communications protocols.
• Experience developing functional specifications, design verification plans, and functional test procedures.
• Lab experience with ESD gun, TLP machine, ESD current probe, and high voltage measurement.
• Knowledge of mixed-signal board-level design.
• Experience in signal/power integrity analysis.

• Design and analyze ESD protection for consumer products.
• Conduct system-level ESD testing for troubleshooting.
• Evaluate and select system-level ESD protection devices.
• Drive existing system-level ESD simulation methodology to address current and future design challenges.
• Perform electromagnetic and circuit-level modeling of electronic devices for system-level ESD simulations.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams during the architecture, design, and validation phases.
• Keep executive management updated on key research and product issues.
