Job description
The Research Engineer for Gemini Multi-turn at Google will focus on enhancing the capabilities of large language models, particularly in multi-turn interactions and factuality. This role involves collaborating with research and engineering teams to develop innovative solutions for complex modeling and evaluation challenges. The engineer will also be responsible for curating data and designing evaluation strategies to improve model performance. This position is critical for advancing Google's AI technologies and impacts products like Gemini, Search, and Cloud.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, or a related technical field.
- 5 years of software engineering experience using Python.
- 1 year of experience working on large language model post-training in an industry AI lab or research institute.
- Experience with deep learning frameworks such as JAX/Flax for distributed systems.
- One or more first-author papers accepted at or published in LLM-related conferences.
Responsibilities
- Scope and drive research efforts to improve complex frontier Gemini capabilities.
- Review the latest literature to guide research and experimental directions.
- Curate and generate data to evaluate and improve Gemini capabilities.
- Design and implement both human and automated evaluation strategies.
- Collaborate with partners and product functions to deliver new model capabilities to production.
