Job description

The Technical Program Manager for Datacenter Portfolio and Strategy Management in the AMERS region oversees the entire datacenter program lifecycle, from initial planning to operational turnover. This role focuses on creating a cohesive view of the regional portfolio, enabling project teams and leaders to make informed decisions. The manager will work across various disciplines, including engineering, procurement, and operations, to ensure timely delivery and risk mitigation. The position requires strong collaboration and technical acumen to drive improvements and efficiencies in program management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Business, Construction Management, Data Analytics/Science.
  • 2+ years of experience in engineering, planning, product/technical program management, execution, or data analysis in large-scale complex organizations.
  • 1+ year of experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects related to architecture, engineering, or construction management.
  • Ability to meet Microsoft, customer, and/or government security screening requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Identify opportunities and gaps across multiple features and services in the datacenter portfolio using data and tools.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to design and implement integrated solutions for cross-functional programs.
  • Define success criteria and performance metrics for portfolio programs and ensure required telemetry and reporting are in place.
  • Develop and run portfolio rhythms of business and status reporting to provide a trusted view of milestones and risks.
  • Partner with stakeholders to implement automated systems and workflows that improve operational reliability.
  • Manage cross-functional initiatives focusing on efficiencies and decision-making to enable scale.
  • Leverage technical acumen to facilitate engineering problem-solving.
  • Drive business results through a focus on key performance indicators and business goals.
  • Deliver on ambiguous projects with multiple stakeholders and unclear requirements.
  • Differentiate Microsoft data center delivery by applying best-in-class project management expertise.
