Job description
NVIDIA is seeking a physical design engineer to join its physical design methodology team, focusing on innovation across various product lines including AI, HPC, and gaming. The role involves developing methodologies that enhance power, performance, and area (PPA) while improving the efficiency of the physical design flow. This position offers the opportunity to work at the forefront of process technology and collaborate with multiple teams to push the limits of physical design. Candidates will play a crucial role in delivering industry-leading chip hardware in a fast-paced environment.
Requirements
- MS in Electrical or Computer Engineering or equivalent experience
- Minimum 7 years of experience in Physical Design with a focus on methodology and flow development
- Proven track record of PPA improvement on high performance and low power designs in advanced technology nodes
- Strong understanding of physical design optimization and routing methodologies
- Experience in low power design with UPF and use of FSDB/SAIFs for power optimization
- Solid understanding of EM and IR analysis and closure
- Expertise in industry standard EDA tools and proficiency in programming and scripting languages such as TCL, Perl, Python, and C++
Responsibilities
- Develop innovative physical design methodologies for GPU, CPU, and SOC implementation with an emphasis on PPA improvement
- Collaborate with internal and external partners to drive tool and methodology improvements
- Utilize AI/ML approaches to enhance design performance and turnaround time
- Work closely with cross-functional teams including RTL, synthesis, DFT, and foundry to optimize physical design flows
