Job description
The IS&T Retail Store Apps Engineering team at Apple is responsible for the technology and IT systems that enable Apple Retail Stores to effectively service millions of customers. This role involves collaborating with talented software engineers to innovate and enhance product delivery through distributed compute platforms and application services. The ideal candidate will be hands-on, proactive, and possess strong problem-solving skills. Success in this position requires critical thinking and effective communication within the team and across functions.
Requirements
- BA/BS degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- 3 years of relevant experience in software development.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Rust, and/or Java.
- Experience with cloud compute environments like OpenStack, AWS, GCP, or Azure.
- Familiarity with infrastructure as code (IaC), configuration management, CI/CD, and automation.
- Experience in troubleshooting, problem solving, and debugging.
- Proficiency in implementing telemetry using monitoring tools like Splunk, Grafana, and Prometheus.
- Experience with container orchestration systems such as Docker and Kubernetes.
- Experience in Site Reliability Engineering or DevOps.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience with UNIX/Linux Operating Systems.
Responsibilities
- Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to identify potential solutions.
- Architect and lead distributed compute platforms and application services.
- Test and deploy changes in collaboration with engineering teams.
- Write solid and clean code while documenting processes.
- Participate in on-call rotation as needed.
