Job description
The Design Verification Engineer at Apple is responsible for ensuring the functionality and performance of Apple's premier SoCs. This role involves working closely with the digital custom circuits team to deliver bug-free custom IPs for various SoCs. The engineer will translate design specifications into comprehensive test benches and collaborate with designers to meet performance goals. This position plays a critical role in the SoC design effort, impacting the timely delivery of high-quality products to market.
Requirements
- BS degree plus a minimum of 3 years of relevant industry experience.
- DV skills including random verification process, functional coverage, and code coverage.
- Knowledge of Verilog/System Verilog and digital simulation and debug tools.
- Proficiency in at least one scripting language, such as Perl or Python.
- Understanding of behavioral and structural RTL coding, especially related to SRAM and register file designs.
- Familiarity with industry standard design tools, such as ESPCV and/or LEC.
- Knowledge of regression and revision control tools.
- Desirable knowledge of DFT (ATPG/MBIST) and FPGA challenges.
Responsibilities
- Review design and architecture specifications to understand use cases and corner conditions.
- Translate specifications into test benches that include stimulus, checkers, assertions, trackers, and coverage.
- Collaborate with custom circuit designers and RTL designers to understand functionality and performance goals.
- Run and triage regressions, track bugs, and analyze coverage to ensure high quality results.
- Work closely with various teams to achieve bug-free functional products.
