This role at Apple involves performing physical design implementation of System-On-Chip (SOC) blocks in Austin, Texas. Requirements
- Master's degree or foreign equivalent in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related field.
- 5 years of experience in the job offered or a related occupation.
- Experience utilizing Electronic Design Automation (EDA) tools such as Innovus or IC Compiler.
- Understanding and interpreting design constraints for timing convergence and low power verification.
- Experience in synthesis, automated place and route, or verification flows.
Responsibilities
- Perform physical design implementation of SOC blocks from netlist to tape-out.
- Collaborate with the FE team to understand chip architecture and drive physical aspects early in the design cycle.
- Analyze reports and query the design database to identify issues and develop solutions.
- Optimize design for reduced area and power while ensuring timing convergence.
- Perform various analysis tasks such as Static Timing Analysis (STA) and Design Rule Checking (DRC).
