The position requires collaboration with physical design teams and CAD/EDA vendors to ensure design reliability and tool validation. The candidate will develop custom scripts in Python and TCL to automate analysis workflows and provide detailed design reviews for signoff. The focus is on maintaining power integrity and meeting project milestones in a dynamic environment.
Requirements
- Master's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Engineering or a related field.
- Experience with top-level and block-level IR drop analysis in digital silicon circuits.
- Experience with signal and power electromigration related reliability analysis in digital silicon circuits.
- Experience debugging high IR drop and EM violations and directing physical design teams on layout improvements.
- Experience developing and applying custom scripts in Python and TCL for automating analysis workflows.
- Understanding of very large-scale digital design construction from Verilog synthesis to design route/closure.
Responsibilities
- Perform block-level and top-level EMIR analysis to identify electrical weaknesses.
- Conduct power grid design, optimization, and verification using industry-standard tools.
- Develop and apply custom scripts in Python and TCL for efficient analysis workflows.
- Investigate and debug high IR drop and EM violations by tracing metal layers and current paths.
- Collaborate with CAD and EDA vendors to validate tool results and resolve issues.
- Provide detailed design reviews and documentation for signoff on EMIR related items.
