Job description
The Supplier Quality Engineer for Battery/UPS at Google will be part of a team focused on developing innovative silicon solutions for consumer products. This role emphasizes driving quality and reliability in Battery/UPS technologies and PCB assembly processes. The engineer will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the technical readiness of products for mass production. This position requires a blend of technical expertise and leadership to mentor junior team members and improve manufacturing processes.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, such as Quality or Electrical, or equivalent practical experience.
- 5 years of experience as a quality, reliability, or product engineer.
- Experience with Battery/UPS, DC-DC module, and PCB assembly technologies.
- Ability to travel as required, approximately 15%-20%.
Responsibilities
- Implement Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) methodologies to analyze and resolve failures.
- Lead the resolution of critical fleet and factory issues by guiding suppliers through RCCA and Failure Analysis workflows.
- Drive process design, optimization, and qualification activities for manufacturing processes.
- Lead cross-functional initiatives during New Product Introduction (NPI) phases for Battery/UPS technologies.
- Develop and implement advanced quality plans and process controls to mitigate risks in the supply chain.
